Schaeffler LIFTKIT-UR | for Universal Robots

The Schaeffler LIFTKIT-UR adds a seventh axis to Universal Robots cobots and extends the vertical working range by up to 1,400 mm. This enables applications across multiple working levels without the need for larger robots or complex custom-built solutions. The telescopic column handles the cobot’s vertical positioning and helps maximize the use of available installation space. With stroke options ranging from 500 to 1,400 mm, the system can be adapted to various machine and automation concepts. Especially in palletizing, material handling, pick-and-place, machine tending, and inspection applications, users can automate larger work areas and strategically expand the reach of existing robotic systems.

The Schaeffler LIFTKIT-UR is UR+ certified and was specifically developed for use with Universal Robots. The included URCap software integrates the vertical axis directly into the robot’s Polyscope environment. As a result, lift axis movements can be created, adjusted, and controlled within the same programming interface. Positioning is managed via the UR controller, eliminating the need for an additional robot control system. This simplifies commissioning and reduces integration effort for machine builders and system integrators. Supported models include the UR3, UR5, UR10, UR16, and, depending on the configuration, the UR20 and UR30. This makes the system suitable for both new automation projects and the expansion of existing UR installations.

The Schaeffler LIFTKIT-UR consists of a telescopic column, SCU controller, mounting plates, cable set, hand switch, and URCap software, delivered as a fully coordinated system solution. Available interfaces include RS232, USB, digital inputs and outputs, as well as safety I/O. The column supports a compressive load of up to 1,500 N and operates at a speed of 80 mm/s. Its low-vibration motion enables precise robot positioning across different working heights. Thanks to its virtually maintenance-free design, the system is ideally suited for industrial applications involving repetitive vertical movements.
